Cities Expanding
This print is about the changing landscape of New Zealand to make way for the urban development of our major cities. This work is based on Christchurch's growth with its ever-increasing population. The map on the top of the work is of the Christchurch metro bus system and the major roads it uses to get around the city. But like a tree and its branches, the city's major routes are getting larger and longer, trying to keep up with the demand for new developments around the edge of the city.
Overall the work is about the balance of the natural environment and urban development. The concept we can't live with one or the other. Instead, man and nature working together, enabling them to both grow and thrive.
